Hello Ladies!

Thanksgiving is upon us, Christmas is approaching, and flexibility is being called for at every turn as we prepare to celebrate and worship over the next couple months.  Our Christmas Extravaganza is providing us another opportunity to get creative and maybe even provide a new form of celebration through service.  In a spirit of safety and wisdom, we will not be hosting our usual cookie packaging--gift wrapping--care package assembling event this year.  BUT we don't want to miss the opportunity to care and provide for those in need.  SO, we are reworking the system a bit in order to provide the cookies and gifts we've traditionally given to the Rescue Mission and Women's house.
1.  We are still collecting donations, both tangible and monetary.  Please see the sign up genius list to sign up for items you'd like to contribute.  OR  contact Gloria Roy (801-301-0025  or royzrus@gmail.com) to give money toward the purchases.  Most of the items listed can be purchased at the dollar store or on Amazon in bulk.  If you do purchase from Amazon, you could provide twice the benefit if you use AmazonSmile-selecting "Salt Lake Rescue Mission" as your desired charity to receive a percentage of the sale.
2.  We are also collecting cookies for the Rescue Mission's Christmas dinner.  These must be store boughtsingle-serving packages.  Costco & Sams are fabulous sources for these.  Since we won't be packaging cookies in our usual festive manner, we thought it might be fun for women & families to add a special touch to the packages they are donating - maybe tie a curly ribbon, add stickers, or a tiny note.  Maybe this could be a fun family service project: put on some music, drink hot chocolate, decorate a bit, and pray for the men, women & children of the Rescue Mission.
Please know that decorations are in no way necessary, just an idea.  Our main goal is to bless folks with a sweet treat.
3.  All donations and cookies should be delivered to the church office by December 13th.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Yolonda Poret in the church office, or Gloria Roy.  We're sad not to gather, but pray that we will each find joy as we worship the Lord through generous giving and service.

All items can be dropped off at the church or at Gloria's home (1343 East Silvercrest Dr.  Sandy).  She has also offered to do pick ups if needed.  Please coordinate the transfer of items with Gloria.
