These classes for adults, designed to help you apply the truths of God's Word to your life, begin at 9:00 am. Come join us!
June 21st is the last week for these classes before we break for the summer.
Location: Music Room
Leader: Rene Vallieres
Description: The world preaches doom and gloom to us everyday – all day. And we join the worldly choir as we respond in fear, anxiety and hopelessness. Actually, the world has it half right: Sin is destructive and the future looks bleak. But, we have access to the whole truth through the Gospel: There is Redemption and hope in Christ. We cannot shut out the world's harangue but we can counter it with the Truth of Christ and His Gospel by preaching the Gospel to ourselves. This is a spiritual discipline encouraged by God's Word - and by our Pastor. By preaching the Gospel to ourselves daily, we are filling our hearts with the greatest and most important news in the world - each day and every day, moment by moment. If you need your heart filled with Good News then come and join us as we encourage one another to preach the Gospel to ourselves; that is, to ourselves first and then to the whole world.
Location: Room 206
Leader: Pastor Kurt Gelman
Description:We have heard the horror stories, but what is your teenage child really thinking and facing? How can you become more equipped to assist them as they navigate through the sometimes rough waters of adolescence? God has designed the church to shine a light to show every generation the glory of God's Son. God has designed the family to nurture the hearts of a generation to love God.
Location: Room 209
Leader: Rob Hausam
Description: As a Christian, trying to share the gospel with those around you, do you ever feel like a foreigner, not quite understanding the language or knowing how to translate your words so that the people you talk with will clearly understand what you are saying? Do you know how to effectively share the gospel with the Pharisees, Greek philosophers, pagan priests and others (or their modern equivalents) that you encounter in your daily life? If you've been wrestling with questions like these (or even if you haven't, but think that you should be), please come and join us as we explore how to break down the walls that have been holding us back and blocking our progress, and boldly go where few local church bodies have gone before in communicating our faith and God's grace to those around us. This class will begin a journey of discovery, as we explore strange (new?) cultures, seek to bring "new life" by the Holy Spirit, and establish and strengthen our gospel communities (both new and old). We intend to teach, encourage and support one another as we move forward to follow Jesus and fulfill the mission that He has given us, the Great Commission, in this place where He has both called and sent us, the Salt Lake Valley.
