Women's Ministries

Women's Ministries exist to help the women of the Evangelical Free Church of Salt Lake City become passionate for the supremacy of God in all things for the joy of all peoples through Jesus Christ.

This God-initiated passion is created and spread by...

• Giving women encouragement and opportunity to develop a growing intimate relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ, which results in increasing conformity to Him and is the only source of lasting joy. (Psalm 16:11)

• Equipping women with the Word of God, so that they may fully embrace the gospel of Jesus Christ and their God-given design as helper and life-giver, and so bring blessing (joy) to themselves, their families, their church, their friendships, their workplaces, their communities and the world. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

• Drawing women together for fellowship, for mutual encouragement and building up, for accountability, for sharing life experiences, and for outreach to those who do not know Christ. (Hebrews 3:12-15)

• Building up the body of Christ in this place by providing support to the male leadership of the church, to other ministries of the church, and to members of the church family. (Ephesians 4:15-16)

Opportunities for Spiritual Growth

We offer at least two Bibles studies through the school year, one daytime study and one evening study. These run from September through May.

Both monthly and weekly discipleship studies are offered, as well as the occasional teaching time known as "The Art and Soul of Being a Woman."

We are also developing the opportunity for one on one discipling relationships, in accordance with Titus 2:3-5.

Opportunities for Fellowship

Third Monday: Women meet once a month on the third Monday at a local café for fellowship. Children and friends are welcome.

Out and About: Occasional, varied "events" invite women to join with other women to watch a movie, enjoy lunch together, go shopping, etc. These offer a very informal opportunity to get to know other women in our church, as well as to invite friends to enjoy.

Annual Women's Fall Retreat: This is an opportunity to come together as women over a weekend, to relax, to be refreshed in worship and study of God's Word, and to grow in love for Christ and for one another.

Opportunities to Serve the Body of Christ and Our Community

Women's Ministries is the umbrella for the Kitchen Ministry and the Household Helps Ministry. We are working to add other areas of caring for the people of our body and for reaching out into the community.
