Children's Ministry

Psalm 78:5-7 "He established a testimony in Jacob and appointed a law in Israel, which he commanded our fathers to teach to their children, that the next generation might know them, the children yet unborn, and arise and tell them to their children, so that they should set their hope in God and not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments;"

The curriculum at Salt Lake EV Free is God centered and biblically based. We strive to teach children that God is their Creator, Savior, Redeemer, and Sovereign over all, connecting truth to heart responses. Over 90 children attend our program on a weekly basis and our prayer is that they will "set their hope in Him" as their Lord and Savior and live out their faith for the outside world to see.

On Sundays beginning at 9:00 am, 'Fighter Verse Families' (a mix of children of varying ages, 4-11 years old) meet together in the fellowship hall to work in groups to memorize a portion of scripture. At 9:20 the children are dismissed to their classrooms:

• 4- and 5-year olds meet in room 102 to learn about the attributes of God (ABC's of God).
• 1st - 3rd grade meet in room 103 to learn that God is faithful to His promises.
• 4th - 5th grade meet in room 106 to look at at How Majestic is His Name. A study for children on the names and character of God.

Sunday School wraps up at 10:00 and most families then move to the fellowship hall for snacks and fellowship.

Children 3 years old and up stay with their families for worship in the sanctuary at 10:30 am. After the offering 3 year olds through 2nd grade are dismissed to their classrooms to continue their journey through the Bible:

• 3 year olds, room 102: Sunday School for 3 year olds, Life of Jesus.
• 4 year olds, room 103: He Established a Testimony, Old Testament.
• 5 year olds, room 104: He Established a Testimony, Old Testament.
• 1st grade, room 105: The Way of the Wise, a study on Proverbs.
• 2nd grade, room 106: The Way of the Wise, a study on Proverbs.

Nursery is available for infants and toddlers up to age 3 every Sunday morning starting at 8:50 am. Our nursery is well staffed and provides a safe place for your child during your time at EV Free. Cribs are available for those little ones in need of a rest. The nursery is located on the left side of the entry hallway.

As always, Sunday School and nursery are optional. Your children and even the little ones are welcome to remain with you during the worship service.

A cry room is also available for parents with their young children during the worship service from 10:30 to noon. This room is equipped with a television feed which broadcasts the worship service in its entirety. It is located at the top of the west stairwell, room 301.
